About Interim Changes
Residents of the Dover Housing Authority are required to report any interim changes to their household within 10 days of the change occurring. These changes include—but are not limited to—adjustments in household income, additions or removals of family members, changes in employment status, or shifts in school enrollment for household members. Timely reporting ensures that rent calculations remain accurate and that families continue to receive the correct level of housing assistance. Failure to report changes within the required timeframe may result in incorrect rent charges or even program noncompliance, which could affect continued eligibility.

Reporting Changes
To report a change, residents must complete an Interim Change Form and provide any necessary documentation to verify the update. This helps DHA assess whether a rent adjustment is needed or if further action must be taken based on the change. For example, a reduction in income may result in lower rent, while an increase could lead to a recalculation. Changes in household composition—such as the birth of a child, a roommate moving in or out, or a family member leaving for college—must also be reported, as they impact both eligibility and unit size. If you’re unsure whether a change needs to be reported, we encourage you to contact the DHA office to discuss your situation. It’s always better to report and verify than risk falling out of compliance.
